The vocal variations of my voice are colored by my 30+ years of experience in the travel industry, and over 12 years of Voice Over working and training, meaning I have a wide range of life experiences to call on to produce the right sound for your voice over project.

Voice Over Inspiration

As a voice actor, my inspiration is the script, the detailed framework from which the final project emerges. I perform a delicate and intricate dance with other contextual sound elements, such as music and sound effects, as well as any visual data that I am made aware of. The collaboration is furthered and enriched by my interaction with the producer, director, sound designer, editor, casting personnel, client, and others who have a creative stake in the project. These individuals provide details and suggestions which are welcomed, and then incorporated into my voice portrayal.

I rely on imagination and my abilities as a voice actor, storyteller, and communicator to attempt to envision the final product and embody the vocal personality that best fits the story and communicates the right message. To see and experience the portion that I participated in creating is an emotional thing. I never become tired of that feeling.

There are many dimensions that keep voice-over work interesting. Each different project genre, a TV or radio commercial, industrial, animation, documentary, video game, book, training/education, etc., requires a slightly different execution…there are different rules of engagement with each. Every project is going to require something different. I have a broad understanding of genre, style, context, and dozens of other aspects of presentation. I strive for better voice control and continually improving my ability to engineer the recording. It is all fascinating, and I will never stop learning new things…beautiful.

My Voice Qualities

I have a powerful, resonant voice with no discernible accent although I have an authentic Texas accent (when needed). I can provide a sound that’s professional and authoritative, friendly and approachable, tough with an attitude, raspy, intimate, deep, gritty, or anything in between. My voice has been described as Bad Ass, Rugged, Smooth, Warm, Deep (Baritone), Authoritative, Mellow, Promo Announcer, Believable. Great phone voice for voice mail messages, greetings, and on hold messages and Narratives.
